Fun learning tool
As a beginner, this was slightly challenging to set up initially, but the community examples helped a lot. The form factor is unique and looks great on my desk prototype.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The board quality is excellent and the touch screen is very responsive. However, finding specific pinout diagrams for the audio section took some digging. Once set up, voice recognition examples ran smoothly.

Solid industrial prototype candidate
We are evaluating this for a small monitoring device. The stability of the Wi-Fi connection and the quality of the video stream from both cameras exceeded our expectations for this price point.

Best AIoT board for the price
I've used several ESP32 boards, but the added PSRAM and dual cameras make this stand out. It handles image processing tasks much better than standard boards. Highly recommended for bionic eye projects.

Impressive AI capabilities
Running face detection models directly on the board is surprisingly fast. The circular display UI library provided by Waveshare is intuitive and easy to customize.

Perfect for Computer Vision Projects
The dual camera setup works flawlessly with the ESP32-S3. I was able to get depth perception working in under an hour using MicroPython. The circular screen is a nice touch for robot head designs.
Q: What is the field of view for the cameras?
A: The onboard OV2640 camera modules typically have a diagonal field of view of approximately 60 degrees. This is suitable for facial recognition and object tracking at close to medium ranges.
Q: Does this board support Arduino IDE?
A: Yes, the ESP32-S3 Binocular board is fully compatible with the Arduino IDE. You will need to install the ESP32 board manager package and select the 'Xiao ESP32S3' or generic 'ESP32S3 Dev Module' depending on your specific configuration needs.
Q: Can I power this with a 3.7V LiPo battery directly?
A: Yes, there is a dedicated JST-PH2.0 connector on the board for connecting a single-cell LiPo battery. The board includes a charging circuit, so it will charge the battery when connected via USB-C.
Q: Does it come with a case or enclosure?
A: No, the standard package includes only the development board and a USB cable. However, we provide 3D printing files for a custom enclosure on our official wiki page.
Q: Is the screen capacitive or resistive touch?
A: The 1.28-inch circular display features a capacitive touch panel, which supports multi-touch gestures and offers a more responsive user experience compared to resistive screens.
