Best board for vision applications
I've tested many dev boards, and the dual CSI interfaces on this P4 model are a game changer for stereo vision projects. The build quality is solid, and the RJ45 connector feels durable.

Runs Linux-like environments beautifully
The memory bandwidth on this chip allows it to run lightweight RTOS and even experimental Linux ports effectively. The Ethernet stability is crucial for my industrial monitoring setup. Very happy with this board.

Solid hardware, needs better examples
Hardware is fantastic, especially the screen and camera connectivity. However, I wish there were more ready-to-run examples specifically for the DeepSeek integration out of the box. Still, a great purchase.

Great performance, steep learning curve
Performance is top-notch for the price. The lack of onboard flash means you need to manage external storage carefully, which caught me off guard initially. Once set up, the XiaoZhi AI integration runs smoothly.

Perfect for Edge AI Projects
The ESP32-P4 board from Waveshare is incredible. The Ethernet port works flawlessly, and the camera interface made setting up a smart doorbell with local AI processing very straightforward. Highly recommended for serious developers.

A: No, the ESP32-P4 chip itself does not include WiFi or Bluetooth. It focuses on high-performance computing and connectivity via Ethernet. If you need WiFi, you may need to pair it with an external module via SPI or USB.
Q: How do I expand the storage since there is no onboard flash?
A: You can connect external QSPI Flash chips directly to the designated pins on the board header, or use an SD card module via SPI for storage needs. The boot process can be configured to load from these external sources.
Q: Does this board come with pre-flashed firmware for XiaoZhi AI?
A: The board typically ships with a basic demo firmware. You will need to flash the specific XiaoZhi AI or DeepSeek firmware images yourself using the USB-C port and the appropriate flashing tool.
