Perfect for Industrial IoT Prototyping
This board is exactly what I needed for a factory automation project. The dual CAN bus implementation works flawlessly with our existing machinery, and the RS485 interface made connecting to legacy sensors incredibly easy. The Ethernet port via LAN8720A provides stable connectivity for our MQTT gateway.

Great Value for STM32F407 Features
I've used several STM32 boards, and this one offers the best peripheral selection for the price. Having both CAN interfaces and Ethernet on a single board saves significant PCB design time. The documentation provided by the seller was clear enough to get CubeMX configured quickly.

Reliable for Automotive Testing
We use these boards for testing automotive ECU communication protocols. The dual CAN support allows us to simulate complex network traffic without needing extra expansion modules. The build quality feels industrial-grade, not like a typical hobbyist board.

Good performance, wish it had USB-C
Functionally, this board is a powerhouse. The STM32F407 handles our data processing tasks easily. My only critique is the use of a micro-USB port for power/debugging instead of USB-C, which would be more future-proof. Otherwise, the RS485 and Ethernet performance is top-notch.

Excellent for University Projects
Bought this for my final year embedded systems thesis. The combination of high processing speed and diverse communication options allowed me to implement a real-time data logging system with remote monitoring. Highly recommend for students moving beyond basic Arduino projects.

Solid board, minor learning curve
The hardware quality is excellent. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pinout diagram for the Ethernet pins wasn't immediately obvious in the included PDF, but once I found the schematic online, everything worked great. The CAN transceivers are robust.
Q: Does this board come with a bootloader pre-installed?
A: Yes, the board comes with a standard UART bootloader pre-installed, allowing you to program it via the serial port without an external debugger. It also supports ST-Link V2 for JTAG/SWD debugging.
Q: What is the termination resistance configuration for the CAN bus?
A: The board includes solder jumpers to enable or disable the 120-ohm termination resistors for both CAN1 and CAN2 lines, giving you flexibility depending on whether this board acts as an end-node or a middle node in your network.
Q: What is the maximum current this board can supply to 3.3V peripherals?
A: The onboard LDO regulator can safely supply up to 500mA to the 3.3V rail. However, if your peripherals require more current, we recommend powering them externally and connecting only the logic signals to the GPIO pins.
Q: Can the LAN8720A Ethernet interface support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
A: No, this specific module does not have built-in PoE injection or extraction circuitry. You will need to power the board via the VIN pin or USB port separately while using the Ethernet port solely for data communication.
