Solid performance, runs hot under load
Running continuous video inference does make the chip get quite warm. I added a small heatsink which solved the issue. Performance-wise, it handles complex neural networks better than the older ESP32 models. The pinout is standard XIAO, making it easy to swap into existing designs.

Easy to start with Arduino IDE
As someone new to embedded systems, I was worried about the setup. However, adding the board manager URL and installing the drivers was straightforward. The example codes for the camera and sensors got me up and running in under an hour.

Ideal for student workshops
We bought a batch of these for our university lab. Students love the small size and the ability to do visual recognition without needing a Raspberry Pi. The durability has been great even with beginner handling. Excellent educational tool.

Perfect for TinyML Projects
The XIAO ESP32S3 Sense is a powerhouse in a tiny package. I successfully deployed a person detection model using TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers. The camera quality is decent for the size, and the IMU works flawlessly. Highly recommended for edge AI enthusiasts.

Great board, minor documentation gaps
Hardware is excellent and the build quality feels premium. Setting up the PDM microphone took a bit of digging through forums to get the right library, but once working, the audio capture is clear. The form factor fits perfectly into my wearable prototype.

Best value for Wi-Fi + Camera
I've tried several ESP32 boards with cameras, and this is by far the most compact. The Wi-Fi 6 support ensures stable streaming to my local server. Battery charging works as expected, and the sleep modes are efficient for battery-powered applications.
