Best entry point into IoT

Solid hardware, minor pin layout quirks

Reliable and compact
Great form factor for fitting into tight enclosures. Performance is consistent. I deducted one star only because the micro-USB port feels slightly fragile compared to newer USB-C standards, but it works well.

Excellent for robotics control
Using this as the brain for a small rover. The PWM channels handle the motor drivers smoothly, and the low power consumption is a huge plus for battery-operated projects.

A: The board comes with no pre-installed user code, but it includes a bootloader that allows you to drag and drop .uf2 files to program it instantly via USB.
Q: How much current can a single GPIO pin source?
A: Each GPIO pin can safely source or sink up to 4mA, with a total limit across all pins. For higher current devices, we recommend using a transistor or driver circuit.
