Good value but runs hot
Amazing specs for the money. I had to buy a better heatsink and fan kit separately as it gets warm during compilation tasks. Otherwise, it's a fantastic learning tool.

Emulation powerhouse
Runs retro games up to PS2 and GameCube levels surprisingly well. The HDMI 2.1 output ensures low latency on modern TVs. Boot times are instant with an NVMe drive.

Perfect for edge computing
Using this for an edge AI project. The NPU performance is impressive, and the thermal management is better than expected under load. The GPIO headers make integration easy.

Reliable for prototyping
We used this for rapid prototyping of an industrial control interface. The dual Ethernet option (via HAT) and robust OS support made deployment straightforward. Very satisfied.
Q: Does this board come with a power adapter included?
A: No, the Radxa ROCK 5B+ typically does not include a power adapter in the box. You will need to purchase a 5V/4A USB-C power supply separately.
Q: What is the maximum storage capacity supported via the M.2 slot?
A: The M.2 M-Key slot supports NVMe SSDs up to 2TB, though larger drives may work depending on the specific SSD model and firmware. It supports PCIe 3.0 x4 lanes.
Q: Can I use a standard Raspberry Pi 4 case for this board?
A: Generally, no. While the GPIO pinout is compatible, the physical dimensions and port placement of the ROCK 5B+ differ from the Raspberry Pi 4. We recommend cases specifically designed for the ROCK 5 series.
Q: Is Android 13 supported on this device?
A: Currently, the official stable image supports Android 12. Android 13 builds are in development by the community, but for production stability, we recommend sticking to the official Android 12 or Ubuntu images.
Q: How do I enable the WiFi 6 feature if it's not detected?
A: WiFi 6 is enabled by default in the latest OS images. If not detected, please ensure your antenna is properly connected to the U.FL connectors on the board and update your system packages using 'sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade'.
