Solid board, minor pin labeling confusion
The hardware quality is excellent and the WiFi range is impressive. My only complaint is that the silk screen labeling for some GPIO pins is a bit small and hard to read without a magnifying glass. Otherwise, highly recommended for IoT projects.

Good compatibility with MicroPython
Flashed MicroPython onto it immediately. Works great for rapid prototyping. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included jumper wires in the bundle were a bit stiff, but the board itself is top-notch.

Perfect for beginners following the Bilibili tutorials
I bought this specifically to follow the Puzhong video series on Bilibili. The board works flawlessly out of the box. Drivers installed easily on Windows 10, and I was blinking an LED within minutes. Great value for the price.

Best budget ESP32 kit

Great dual-core performance
Using this for a home automation sensor node. The dual-core processor handles Wi-Fi connectivity and sensor reading simultaneously without lag. Compilation times in Arduino IDE are fast. Very happy with this purchase.

Reliable Bluetooth and WiFi
I've tested both Bluetooth and WiFi functionalities extensively. Connection stability is superior to cheaper clones I've tried before. The antenna design seems well optimized. Definitely buying more for my next project.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed bootloader?
A: Yes, the board comes with the standard ESP32 bootloader pre-installed, making it ready to use with the Arduino IDE or ESP-IDF immediately upon arrival.
Q: Is the CP2102 driver included in the package?
A: The physical driver chip is on the board, but you will need to download and install the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers from the Silicon Labs website on your computer to establish communication.
Q: Can I power this board using a 9V battery?
A: While the board has a 5V input pin, we recommend using a regulated 5V source. If using a 9V battery, please ensure you use a voltage regulator module to step it down to 5V before connecting to avoid damaging the board.
Q: Does this support OTA (Over-The-Air) updates?
A: Yes, the ESP32 chip fully supports OTA updates. You can implement this feature using the Arduino OTA library or native ESP-IDF functions to update your firmware wirelessly.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard regulator can typically supply up to 600mA, but for stability, we recommend keeping the load on the 3.3V pin under 500mA. For high-power peripherals, please use an external power source.
