Great value but needs careful wiring
The module functions exactly as described. Just make sure to separate the logic power from the servo power if you are driving high-torque motors to avoid resetting your microcontroller.

Solid performer
Works well for LED dimming applications too, not just servos. The only minor issue is that the header pins were slightly loose on one unit, but easy to solder tight.

Reliable industrial prototype component

Perfect for hexapod robots
This board works flawlessly with my Arduino project. The I2C communication is stable, and controlling 16 servos simultaneously caused no lag. Highly recommended for robotics enthusiasts.
Q: Can I stack multiple boards together to control more than 16 servos?
A: Yes, you can stack up to 62 boards on a single I2C bus by changing the address jumpers on each board, allowing you to control nearly 1000 servos with one microcontroller.
Q: What is the maximum current per channel?
A: Each channel can typically handle up to 25mA. For high-current servos, you should power the servos from an external 5V/6V source while using the board only for signal control.
Q: Is it compatible with 3.3V logic microcontrollers like the ESP32?
A: Absolutely. The PCA9685A operates seamlessly with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, making it fully compatible with ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and standard Arduino boards.
