Best bang for your buck
Compared to other single-board computers with dual LAN, this is unbeatable in terms of price-to-performance ratio. Flashing the image was easy, and network speeds are consistent.

Great value but runs warm
Excellent performance for the price point. I use it as a CI/CD runner node. Just be aware that it gets quite hot under load, so I added a small heatsink and fan which solved the issue.

Solid hardware, documentation could be better
The hardware quality is top-notch for the price. However, finding specific pinout diagrams for some GPIO functions took some digging in the forums. Once set up, it works flawlessly.

Reliable gateway solution
Using three of these as edge gateways for my smart home sensors. They have been running 24/7 for months without a single crash. The 1GB RAM is sufficient for most lightweight Docker containers.

Perfect for a home soft router
I replaced my old router with this board running OpenWrt. The dual gigabit ports handle full throughput without breaking a sweat. Setup was straightforward for someone with basic Linux knowledge.

Amazing learning tool
Bought this to learn about networking and containerization. The community support is huge, and there are plenty of tutorials available. It's small enough to fit anywhere on my desk.
Q: Is there an onboard Wi-Fi module?
A: No, the NanoPi R2 series does not have built-in Wi-Fi. You can connect a USB Wi-Fi dongle to the USB 3.0 port if wireless connectivity is required.
Q: Does this board come with a power adapter included?
A: No, the board is sold without a power adapter. You will need a standard 5V/2A USB Type-C power supply, which is commonly available.
Q: Can I run a full desktop version of Ubuntu on this?
A: While technically possible, the 1GB RAM and CPU architecture make it unsuitable for a heavy graphical desktop environment. It is optimized for headless server distributions like Ubuntu Core or Debian Server.
Q: How do I access the board if I don't have a monitor?
A: This board is designed for headless operation. You can access it via SSH over the network once it obtains an IP address, or use a serial console cable connected to the debug pins.
Q: What is the maximum speed of the Ethernet ports?
A: Both Ethernet ports support Gigabit speeds (10/100/1000 Mbps), allowing for high-speed routing and data transfer between networks.
