Great value, minor documentation gaps
Hardware quality is excellent for the price point. The HDMI output works flawlessly. However, the schematic could be more detailed for custom carrier board design. Still, highly recommended for students.

Perfect for embedded Linux learning
This board is exactly what I needed to get started with Zynq development. The gold plating on the connectors looks premium and ensures good contact. Booting Petalinux from the SD card was straightforward following the provided wiki.

Excellent starter kit
The Lu Xiaoban board simplifies the complex Zynq architecture. Having eMMC onboard is a huge plus for production-like testing. Delivery was fast and packaging was secure.

Robust build quality
I've been using this for a motor control project. The FMC connector allows me to attach my custom IO board easily. The system runs stable even under heavy processing loads.

Good performance, runs hot under load
Performance is great for image processing tasks. Note that the chip gets warm during extended compilation or video processing, so I added a small heatsink. Otherwise, a solid board.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed operating system?
A: The board typically comes with a basic bootloader in the QSPI flash. You will need to download the Linux image and bitstream files from our repository and write them to the SD card or eMMC yourself.
Q: Can I power this board directly via the USB OTG port?
A: Yes, the USB OTG port can provide sufficient power for basic operations. However, if you plan to use high-power peripherals like cameras or multiple FMC modules, we recommend using the 5V barrel jack.
Q: Is the FMC connector compatible with standard HPC or LPC modules?
A: This board features an LPC (Low Pin Count) FMC connector. It is compatible with standard LPC FMC mezzanine cards but not full HPC cards due to pin count limitations.
Q: What version of Vivado is recommended for this board?
A: We recommend using Vivado 2018.3 or later versions up to 2023.1. Board support files (XSA) are available for download on our product page for these versions.
Q: Is there a JTAG debugger built into the board?
A: No, this board does not have an onboard JTAG programmer. You will need an external JTAG adapter (such as a Digilent JTAG-HS3 or similar) connected via the 6-pin header to program the FPGA and debug.
