Perfect for AI and Voice Projects
This board is exactly what I needed for my Xiaozhi robot project. The 8MB PSRAM handles voice processing smoothly, and the Wi-Fi connection is stable. Setup with Arduino IDE was seamless.

Solid performance for industrial prototyping
Using this for a prototype control system. The dual-core processor handles multitasking well. Only wish the header pins were pre-soldered, but that's a minor inconvenience.

Excellent connectivity

Great hardware, minor documentation gaps
The hardware quality is excellent, and the N16R8 configuration provides plenty of memory. However, some specific pinout diagrams for the AI kit accessories were hard to find initially. Overall, a solid choice.

Best value ESP32-S3 board
I've tested several S3 boards, and this one offers the best balance of price and performance. The USB OTG support is a huge plus for connecting peripherals directly.
Q: Is the 16MB flash soldered or can it be upgraded?
A: The 16MB flash memory is soldered onto the board and cannot be upgraded by the user. The N16R8 designation indicates the fixed configuration.
Q: Which software frameworks are supported?
A: This board is fully supported by ESP-IDF, Arduino Core, MicroPython, CircuitPython, and Zephyr RTOS.
Q: Does the kit include the antenna?
A: Yes, the board comes with an onboard PCB antenna. There is also a U.FL connector option on some revisions for connecting an external antenna if needed.
Q: Can I power this board with a 3.7V LiPo battery?
A: Yes, you can connect a 3.7V LiPo battery to the BAT pin if a charging circuit is included on your specific carrier, or directly to the 5V VIN pin through a diode if managing charging externally. Please check the schematic for your specific revision.
