Solid performance for robotics
Using this as the brain for a small rover. The PWM output is clean, and the processing speed handles motor control loops without lag. Deducted one star because the onboard LED is extremely bright and can interfere with light sensors if not covered.

Excellent for data logging projects
The ADC resolution is sufficient for my temperature and humidity logging station. Being able to deep sleep the unit and wake it via timer has helped extend battery life significantly. Highly recommended for environmental monitoring.

Perfect for IoT Prototyping
This board works flawlessly right out of the box. The CP2102 driver installed instantly on my Windows machine, and I was uploading code via Arduino IDE within minutes. The dual-core performance is excellent for handling Wi-Fi connectivity while running sensor logic.

Stable Wi-Fi Connection
I've been using this to control my smart home lights. Unlike cheaper clones, this module maintains a stable connection to my router even through two walls. The build quality feels solid, and the soldering points are well-defined.

Beginner Friendly
As someone new to embedded systems, this board was easy to get started with. There are tons of tutorials available specifically for this layout. The USB-C version would be nice, but the Micro-USB works fine for now.

Great value, minor pin labeling issue
Overall a fantastic development board for the price. The Bluetooth range is surprisingly good. My only complaint is that some of the GPIO pin labels on the silk screen are slightly hard to read under low light, but the documentation online clears up any confusion.
Q: Does this board come with the CP2102 or the CH9102 chip?
A: We ship batches with either the CP2102 or CH9102 USB-to-UART bridge depending on stock availability. Both chips function identically for programming and serial communication, though driver installation may vary slightly by OS.
Q: Does it support Over-The-Air (OTA) updates?
A: Yes, the ESP32 chip fully supports OTA updates. You can implement this using the Arduino OTA library or the native ESP-IDF OTA functionality to update firmware wirelessly once the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V pin?
A: The onboard regulator can typically supply up to 600mA, but for stability, we recommend drawing no more than 300-400mA from the 3.3V pin for external peripherals. For higher current needs, use an external power source.
Q: Is this compatible with the Arduino IDE?
A: Yes, absolutely. You just need to add the ESP32 board manager URL to your Arduino IDE preferences, install the ESP32 package by Espressif Systems, and select 'DOIT ESP32 DEVKIT V1' or similar from the board list.
Q: Can I power this board directly with a 9V battery?
A: No, please do not connect 9V directly to the 3.3V or 5V pins. You should use the VIN pin if your regulator supports it, or step down the voltage to 5V before connecting to the 5V pin. Direct 9V input may damage the board.
