Perfect for DIY Security Projects

Great value but needs a good power supply
The module works great once connected to a stable 5V 2A power source. I initially had reboot issues with a weak USB port, but after switching to a dedicated adapter, it runs flawlessly.

Solid hardware for the classroom
We bought ten of these for our robotics club. They are robust enough for student handling and the camera resolution is sufficient for basic object tracking exercises.
Q: How difficult is it to set up face recognition?
A: If you are familiar with Arduino IDE or Python, it is moderately easy. We provide library examples that handle face detection; you mainly need to configure your Wi-Fi credentials and adjust sensitivity settings.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython out of the box?
A: The board hardware is fully compatible with MicroPython, but you will need to flash the MicroPython firmware onto the ESP32 chip using a USB-to-TTL converter before use.
Q: What is the maximum range of the Wi-Fi connection?
A: In an open environment, the Wi-Fi range can reach up to 100 meters. Indoors, this typically reduces to 20-30 meters depending on wall density and interference.
Q: Is an external antenna included for better signal?
A: This specific model uses an onboard PCB antenna. For models requiring an external antenna connector, please check our product variations page for the 'ESP32-CAM with SMA' version.
Q: Can I store recorded videos directly on the board?
A: The board does not have large internal storage for video files. However, it includes a MicroSD card slot that supports cards up to 4GB for local storage of images and short clips.
