Solid performance, gets warm under load
The board handles multiple connections well. I noticed it gets slightly warm when running Wi-Fi and Bluetooth simultaneously at high throughput, but nothing concerning. The form factor is compact and fits easily into custom enclosures.

Great value, minor documentation gaps
The hardware quality is excellent for the price. The RISC-V core is fast and efficient. However, beginners might find the pinout diagram on the website slightly confusing compared to older ESP models. Still highly recommended.

Best board for learning embedded systems
As a university student, this affordable board allowed me to complete my final year project on wireless sensor networks. It supports MicroPython which made development much faster.

Perfect for IoT prototyping
This board works flawlessly out of the box. The USB-C connection makes powering and programming very convenient. I successfully uploaded a Wi-Fi scanner sketch using the Arduino IDE without any driver issues.

Seamless migration from ESP8266

Reliable Bluetooth LE performance
I am using this for a smart home sensor project. The Bluetooth LE connectivity is stable and has a good range. The low power consumption modes are working exactly as specified in the datasheet.
Q: Is this compatible with the ESP-IDF framework?
A: Absolutely. This board is fully supported by the Espressif IoT Development Framework (ESP-IDF). You can select the 'ESP32-C3-DevKitC-1' or similar target configuration when setting up your project.
Q: Can I power this board directly with 3.3V?
A: It is recommended to power the board via the 5V USB-C port or the VIN pin. Supplying 3.3V directly to the VIN pin bypasses the regulator and can damage the board; use the 3.3V output pin only for powering external sensors.
Q: Does this board support external antennas?
A: No, this specific model comes with an onboard PCB antenna. However, there are variant models available with an IPEX connector for external antennas if your project requires it.
