Perfect for Arduino projects
This 4x4 matrix works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The colors are vibrant, and the single-wire control makes wiring incredibly simple. Great value for learning addressable LEDs.

Fast shipping, great product

Solid module
Works as advertised. The pinout is standard which makes integration easy. One star off because the solder pads are a little small for beginners, but fine for experienced users.

Bright and responsive
The refresh rate is excellent with no visible flicker. I used this to prototype a small display sign, and the color accuracy is surprisingly good for the price point.

Good quality, clear instructions needed
The board itself is well-made and the LEDs are bright. However, it would be nice if it came with a sample code link printed on the packaging. Otherwise, easy to find libraries online.
Q: What is the maximum current draw when all LEDs are white at full brightness?
A: Each WS2812B LED can draw up to 60mA at full white brightness. For 16 LEDs, the maximum theoretical draw is approximately 960mA. We suggest a 2A power supply for headroom.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic microcontrollers like ESP32?
A: Yes, the WS2812B generally accepts 3.3V logic levels as a high signal, so it works directly with ESP32 and similar boards without a level shifter in most cases.
Q: Do you provide a sample library or code for this specific layout?
A: This module uses standard WS2812B protocols. You can use popular libraries like Adafruit NeoPixel or FastLED by setting the pixel count to 16. Specific wiring examples are in our online wiki.
Q: Can I chain multiple 4x4 boards together?
A: Yes, you can chain multiple modules by connecting the DOUT pin of the first board to the DIN pin of the next. Ensure your power supply can handle the total current draw of all LEDs.
Q: Does this board require an external resistor for the data line?
A: While many WS2812B modules work without one, we recommend adding a 330-ohm resistor between your microcontroller's data pin and the module's DIN pin for signal stability over longer wires.
