Best value for learning H7 architecture
As a student, this board offers the best price-to-performance ratio for learning the Cortex-M7. It arrived quickly and all GPIOs tested working immediately.

Perfect for high-speed control loops
Using this for a quadruped robot controller. The FPU and cache make a huge difference in loop stability. Bootloader works flawlessly with STM32CubeProgrammer.

Solid for prototyping industrial controls
We used this for rapid prototyping before moving to a custom PCB. The Ethernet peripheral worked out of the box with LwIP. Only minor issue was the silk screen being slightly faint.

Great board, documentation could be better
Hardware quality is top-notch and the H743 chip runs cool even under load. However, the schematic provided on the seller page was a bit low resolution. Still, highly recommended for serious projects.

Superior to F103 in every way
If you are still using F103 for new designs, stop and get this. The memory bandwidth alone justifies the upgrade. Compiles and flashes instantly via ST-Link V3.

Excellent upgrade from F4 series
The performance jump from my old F407 board is incredible. The 480MHz clock speed handles complex DSP algorithms with ease. Pinout is standard enough to adapt existing shields.
Q: Does this board come with a built-in debugger or do I need an external ST-Link?
A: This board does not have a built-in debugger. You will need an external ST-Link V2 or V3 programmer/debugger to flash code and debug via the SWD header.
Q: Does the Ethernet port support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
A: No, this evaluation board does not support Power over Ethernet. The Ethernet connector is data-only, and the board must be powered via USB or the external power header.
Q: Can I use Arduino IDE with this STM32H743 board?
A: Yes, you can use the Arduino IDE by installing the 'STM32duino' board package. Select the generic STM32H7 series and configure the upload method to STM32CubeProgrammer or DFU.
Q: What is the maximum current this board can supply to peripherals on the 3.3V rail?
A: The onboard LDO regulator can safely supply up to 500mA to the 3.3V rail. For high-power peripherals, we recommend using an external 3.3V source.
Q: Is the 5V pin output regulated or just pass-through from USB?
A: The 5V pin is connected directly to the USB VBUS when powered via USB. If using an external power supply, ensure it is regulated 5V before connecting to avoid damaging the board.
