Great entry-level FPGA
Perfect for learning Verilog and getting started with GOWIN tools. The USB-C programming is very convenient and the board feels sturdy.

RISC-V implementation works
Managed to load the soft core successfully. Performance is decent for basic embedded tasks. PMOD headers make expansion easy.

Good value but docs lacking
Hardware is solid for the price. I wish the example projects for the RISC-V core were a bit more detailed, but community support helps.

Compact and powerful
Fits easily into my custom enclosures. The 25K logic elements are enough for most of my signal processing experiments.

Nice PMOD support
Used it with several sensors via the PMOD interfaces. Voltage levels are standard 3.3V which matches most of my peripherals.
Q: Are the I/O pins 5V tolerant?
A: No, the I/O voltage level is 3.3V LVTTL. Please ensure your external components are compatible to avoid damage.
Q: What is the maximum clock frequency supported?
A: The maximum frequency depends on your specific design, but the FPGA typically supports speeds up to 200MHz for general logic.
Q: Which IDE software is required for this board?
A: You will need the GOWIN FPGA IDE. It is available for download from the official GOWIN website.
Q: Does this come with a JTAG debugger built-in?
A: Programming and debugging are handled via the USB Type-C interface. External JTAG can be accessed via PMOD if needed.
Q: Are there open source examples available for the RISC-V core?
A: Yes, you can find open source repositories and examples on GitHub maintained by the community and Sipeed.
