Needs warm-up time
Remember to let it heat up for 24 hours initially for best results. Otherwise works as expected for the price.

Great for Arduino projects
Works perfectly with my Uno. Calibration took some time but sensitivity is good. Make sure to let it warm up before taking readings.

Good sensitivity
Detects smoke well. Note that this is for prototyping and education, not certified safety equipment for home installation.
Q: Can I use this with 3.3V logic?
A: The sensor heater needs 5V, but the DO output can be adjusted. Use a level shifter for IO if connecting to 3.3V boards.
Q: Does this work with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, via the analog pin using an ADC chip or the digital pin directly connected to a GPIO pin.
Q: How long before it reads accurately?
A: We recommend a 24-hour initial burn-in, then 5-10 minutes warm-up per use for stable readings.
Q: Is the digital output adjustable?
A: Yes, there is a potentiometer on the board to adjust the threshold sensitivity for the digital output pin.
Q: Which model detects alcohol?
A: The MQ-3 model is specifically calibrated for alcohol vapor detection among the available variants.
