Documentation could be better
The sensor works fine but the included paper had no wiring diagram. Had to look online. Otherwise functional.

Reliable motion detection
Using this for a simple hallway light automation. Haven't had any missed detections yet. Very reliable for the price.

Good sensor, sensitive to heat
Great module overall. Just note that it detects heat changes, so direct sunlight can trigger false alarms.

Easy to use for beginners
I was worried about wiring but the pins are clearly labeled. The potentiometers for time and sensitivity are easy to adjust.
Q: Does this work with Raspberry Pi GPIO?
A: Yes, the output is 3.3V TTL which is safe for Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.
Q: Can this run directly off 5V?
A: Yes, the operating voltage range is 4.5V to 20V, so 5V is perfect.
Q: Can this be used outdoors?
A: It is designed for indoor use. Weather exposure may damage the module without additional housing.
Q: Is the detection range adjustable?
A: The distance is fixed by the lens, but sensitivity can be adjusted via the potentiometer.
Q: What is the output signal type?
A: It outputs a high level (3.3V) when motion is detected and low level when no motion is detected.
