Authentic quality as described
I was skeptical about ordering online, but the Xuanyitang brand delivers genuine quality. The hair gathers into a perfect point even when wet, making it ideal for small Regular Script. Highly recommended for serious students.

Great brushes, requires break-in
The craftsmanship is evident, especially in the ferrule construction. The brushes were quite stiff out of the package, which is typical for high-quality rat whisker, but after a few uses and proper washing, they softened up nicely without losing their shape.

Superior to synthetic alternatives
Switching from synthetic to this authentic rat-whisker set has improved my calligraphy significantly. The natural hair holds ink better and provides the necessary resistance for controlled movement. The ebony handles are also very elegant.

Excellent value for a professional set
For the price, getting three distinct sizes of high-grade rat whisker brushes is a steal. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the packaging tube was slightly dented upon arrival, though the brushes themselves were untouched and perfect.

Perfect for Clerical Script details

These rat-whisker brushes offer incredible snap and precision. I primarily use them for practicing the Two Wangs style, and the medium brush handles the transitions between thick and thin strokes beautifully. The ebony handle feels substantial and balanced in the hand.
