Great brushes, requires break-in

The craftsmanship is evident, especially in the ferrule construction. The brushes were quite stiff out of the package, which is typical for high-quality rat whisker, but after a few uses and proper washing, they softened up nicely without losing their shape.

Superior to synthetic alternatives

Switching from synthetic to this authentic rat-whisker set has improved my calligraphy significantly. The natural hair holds ink better and provides the necessary resistance for controlled movement. The ebony handles are also very elegant.
