Great Sound, Needs Break-in
The drum has excellent projection. The head was a bit tight out of the box, but after a few days of playing, it settled into a perfect pitch. Highly recommended for Yuju performances.

Professional Grade Instrument
I have used many ban drums over the years, and this Jingfuyun model stands out for its consistency. The 420mm size is standard and fits perfectly on traditional stands.

Solid Purchase
Very satisfied with the quality. The wood feels dense and durable. The only minor issue was that the included sticks were a bit light for my preference, but the drum itself is fantastic.
Q: Can this be used for non-traditional music genres?
A: While designed for Peking Opera and Yuju, many percussionists use it for fusion projects or experimental music due to its unique, crisp timbre.
Q: What is the difference between this and a standard Tanggu drum?
A: The Ban Gu (like this model) is smaller, higher-pitched, and used specifically for conducting and keeping rhythm in opera, whereas the Tanggu is larger and provides lower bass tones.
Q: Does this drum come with a stand?
A: No, this listing includes the rosewood ban drum and a pair of bamboo drumsticks. The stand is sold separately to allow musicians to choose their preferred height and style.
Q: Is the drum head replaceable if it wears out?
A: Yes, the single-layer natural skin head is designed to be replaceable by a professional instrument repair technician when necessary.
Q: How should I store this drum to maintain the wood?
A: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme humidity changes. Using a soft cloth cover is recommended to protect the polished rosewood finish.
