Perfect for spring foraging
This little shovel is incredibly sturdy. I used it all weekend to dig up shepherd's purse and wild garlic, and it cut through the soil like butter. The handle feels great in the hand.

Better than plastic trowels
Finally, a metal tool that doesn't bend! I use it for weeding tight spaces between my garden rows. The pointed tip is excellent for getting under stubborn weeds.

Exactly what I needed
Specifically bought this for digging wild onions and garlic flowers. The shape is ideal for loosening soil without damaging the bulbs. Highly recommend for anyone into foraging.

Great quality, slightly small
The iron is thick and well-made. It's perfect for precise digging around delicate plants. I wish the blade was just an inch wider, but for wild vegetables, it does the job perfectly.

Essential tool for hikers
I keep this in my backpack whenever I go hiking in the hills. It's lightweight but strong enough to break up compacted earth. Found plenty of edible roots thanks to this tool.

Solid construction
Very happy with the purchase. The wood handle is smooth and doesn't give blisters. It took a bit of effort to dig into clay soil, but the tool didn't suffer any damage.
Q: How do I clean the shovel after digging in mud?
A: Simply rinse with water and dry thoroughly with a towel to prevent rust. Occasionally applying a light coat of mineral oil to the metal blade will help maintain the anti-rust coating.
Q: Is the steel stainless or carbon steel?
A: It is made from high-carbon steel for maximum strength and edge retention. It has an anti-rust coating, but it is not stainless steel, so keeping it dry is important.
Q: Does this come with a sheath or cover?
A: No, this tool is sold as a standalone item without a carrying sheath. We recommend wrapping the blade in a cloth when storing it in a bag to protect other items.
Q: Can this be used in rocky soil?
A: Yes, the high-carbon steel blade is durable enough for rocky conditions. However, we recommend using a rocking motion rather than forcing it straight down to avoid chipping the edge on large stones.
Q: Is the handle replaceable if it breaks?
A: The handle is securely fitted into the metal socket. While not designed for easy replacement, a local carpenter could fit a new wooden handle if necessary due to the standard taper.
