Reliable and fast response
I've used these in several robotics projects to detect ambient light conditions. The response time is quick, and it handles rapid changes in lighting well without lag.

Great starter sensor
As someone new to electronics, the provided library and example sketches were a lifesaver. Got it working in under 10 minutes. Only wish the pin headers were pre-soldered.

Good accuracy, small footprint
Very compact module that fits easily into tight enclosures. The I2C address is standard, but make sure to check your pull-up resistors if you have multiple devices on the bus. Overall very satisfied.
Q: How do I change the measurement resolution?
A: You can change the resolution by sending specific configuration commands via I2C. The library examples included show how to switch between Low, High, and High-Resolution modes.
Q: Does this module work directly with 5V Arduino Uno without a logic level converter?
A: Yes, the GY-302 module operates comfortably within the 3.3V to 5V range, so you can connect it directly to a 5V Arduino Uno.
Q: Is the sample code compatible with the ESP8266 NodeMCU?
A: Absolutely. The included code is written in standard Arduino C++ and is fully compatible with ESP8266 and ESP32 boards using the Wire library.
Q: What is the default I2C address for this sensor?
A: The default I2C address for the BH1750FVI on this module is typically 0x23. Some variations may use 0x5C depending on the ADDR pin configuration.
Q: Can this sensor measure UV index?
A: No, this sensor measures illuminance in Lux (visible light). It is not designed to measure UV radiation or provide a UV index reading.
