Good for education
We bought five of these for our university lab. They are durable enough for student handling and the documentation helps beginners understand AHRS concepts. One unit had a loose pin but support replaced it quickly.

Great value for ROS projects
Works well with the ROS driver provided in the documentation. Setup took about an hour to get the calibration right, but once done, the data stream is smooth. Deducting one star because the wiring diagram could be clearer.

Solid industrial performance
Using this for an agricultural rover prototype. The vibration damping combined with the internal filtering provides clean data without needing heavy external processing. The UART output is easy to parse.

Reliable attitude reference

Perfect for my custom FPV drone
The fusion algorithm on this module is incredibly stable. I integrated it into my long-range build and the angle estimation remains accurate even during aggressive maneuvers. The barometer adds a nice touch for altitude hold.

Compact and powerful
I was surprised by how small this unit is given it packs 10 axes of sensing. The magnetic interference rejection seems robust compared to cheaper 6-axis modules I've used before. Highly recommended for balancing robots.
Q: Is there a Python library available for Raspberry Pi integration?
A: Yes, we provide a Python example script on our GitHub repository that reads the serial data and parses the quaternion and Euler angle outputs. It is fully compatible with Raspberry Pi 3 and 4.
Q: What is the update rate for the barometer data specifically?
A: While the IMU data can go up to 200Hz, the barometric pressure data is typically updated at 50Hz to ensure stability and accuracy in altitude calculations without introducing noise.
Q: Can this module operate outdoors in direct sunlight?
A: The electronic components are rated for standard outdoor temperatures. However, the module itself is not waterproof or UV-coated, so we recommend mounting it inside the chassis of your robot or drone to protect it from rain and direct prolonged sun exposure.
Q: How do I calibrate the magnetometer if I am getting skewed heading data?
A: You can initiate the calibration mode by sending the specific command string listed in section 4.2 of the user manual. You will need to rotate the sensor in a figure-8 pattern until the LED indicates completion.
Q: Does this sensor support I2C communication or only UART?
A: This specific model primarily outputs data via UART/TTL for high-frequency updates. While the chip inside may support I2C, the firmware is configured for serial output to ensure compatibility with most flight controllers and ROS nodes.
