Good value, minor library tweaks needed
The hardware is excellent. Just note that if you use the UART mode, you might need to adjust your code slightly compared to the standard library examples. Once set up, it's very stable.

Perfect for 3.3V microcontrollers
Finally found a version of the HC-SR04 that works directly with my ESP32 without needing a voltage divider. The UART interface makes coding much cleaner than managing timing pulses manually.

Solid performance, easy integration

Great for university projects
Used this for my final year project. The wide voltage range saved me a lot of hassle on the breadboard. Documentation provided by the seller was helpful too.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires or headers?
A: The package includes a set of male pin headers that you can solder onto the board. Jumper wires are not included but can be purchased separately.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 3.3V Arduino Pro Mini?
A: Yes, this module supports a wide voltage range from 3.3V to 5V, so it is fully compatible with 3.3V logic boards like the Arduino Pro Mini without additional level shifting.
Q: How do I switch between the standard mode and the UART/IIC modes?
A: The mode is typically selected via specific pin configurations or by sending an initialization command depending on the firmware version. Please refer to the datasheet included in the package for the pinout diagram.
Q: What is the maximum update rate for distance readings?
A: For reliable measurements, we recommend a sampling rate of no more than 20Hz (one measurement every 50ms) to allow the ultrasonic wave to dissipate before the next trigger.
