Works well but gets warm
The sensor works as advertised, but the module itself gets quite warm after about 15 minutes of continuous use. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you need long sessions.

Amazing tool for electronics troubleshooting
This little device is a game changer for checking circuit boards. The resolution is surprisingly good for the price, and the USB-C connection makes it very easy to use with my phone. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Great value, software needs updates
The hardware itself is solid and provides clear thermal images. However, the companion app on Android could be more intuitive. Once you get used to it, it works perfectly for spotting overheating components.
Q: Does this work with iPhones?
A: Currently, this module is designed primarily for Android devices with USB-C OTG support, as well as Windows and Linux PCs. iOS support is limited and requires specific third-party apps that may not be fully compatible.
Q: Is there a dedicated app I need to download?
A: Yes, we recommend using 'Thermal Camera' or similar MLX90640 compatible apps available on the Google Play Store. A list of recommended software is included in the user manual PDF provided in the package.
Q: Does it come with a protective case?
A: The standard package includes the sensor module and the USB-C cable. A protective carrying case is sold separately, though the module does come with a small lens cap to protect the sensor when not in use.
Q: What is the maximum distance it can measure accurately?
A: The accuracy depends on the size of the object relative to the pixel field of view. For small components like resistors, you should be within 10-20 cm. For larger areas like walls or engines, it can work from several meters away.
Q: Can it measure body temperature for medical use?
A: No, this device is intended for industrial, electronic, and building inspection purposes only. It is not calibrated or certified for medical diagnostics or measuring human body temperature.
