Good module, needs calibration

The build quality is solid. You do need to spend a few minutes tweaking the potentiometer to get the right threshold for your environment, but once set, it responds consistently to whistles and claps.

Great for learning electronics

Sensitive and fast

I was surprised by how quickly it reacts. I'm using it to control a fan, and the delay is negligible. The screw terminals make wiring secure without needing to solder immediately.

Solid performance

Works well in quiet rooms. In very noisy environments, you have to be careful with the sensitivity setting to avoid false triggers, but that is expected behavior for this type of mic.

Excellent detection range

I can trigger this from across the room with a loud whistle. The digital output is clean and easy to read with a microcontroller. Will buy more for future projects.

Perfect for my smart home project

This sensor works exactly as described. I used it to trigger lights when I clap my hands, and the sensitivity adjustment makes it very reliable. Great value for the price.

Q: Can I use this outdoors?

A: The module does not have weatherproofing or an enclosure. If used outdoors, it must be housed in a protective case that allows sound to pass through while shielding it from rain and dust.

Q: Can this module detect specific words or just sound levels?

A: This module detects sound intensity (decibel levels) rather than specific words. It outputs a high or low signal when the sound exceeds the threshold you set via the potentiometer.

Q: Does it come with connecting wires?

A: The package includes the PCB module only. Connecting wires or header pins are not included but are standard items available in most electronics starter kits.

Q: What is the maximum voltage this can handle without damage?
