Saved my indoor garden
I integrated this into a smart car kit style robot that moves between pots. It accurately detects dry soil and triggers the pump immediately. Highly recommended!

Solid performance
Does exactly what it says on the tin. The build quality is decent for a hobby component. I bought three for different zones in my greenhouse.

Good value but probes need care
Great little module for the price. Just remember to wipe the probes clean after every use to prevent corrosion over time. Otherwise, readings are consistent.
Q: What is the expected lifespan of the probes?
A: With proper cleaning after use and avoiding constant immersion in water, the gold-plated probes can last for several years. Corrosion may occur if left in wet soil indefinitely.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 3.3V microcontroller?
A: Yes, the module operates within a 3.3V to 5V range, making it fully compatible with 3.3V systems like the ESP32 or Raspberry Pi.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity threshold?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the back of the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease it while monitoring the LED indicator.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof?
A: The electronic components are not waterproof. Only the metal probes are designed to be inserted into the soil. Please keep the PCB dry.
Q: Does this provide an analog moisture level reading?
A: This specific model provides a digital switch output (High/Low). If you need continuous analog values, please check our ASR series sensors.
