Saved my succulents!
I was worried about overwatering my indoor garden. This kit made it easy to build a smart system that only waters when the soil is actually dry. Highly recommended.

Efficient water usage
Exactly what I needed to reduce water waste. The detection is fast, and the module integrates well with my ESP32 home automation hub.

Good value but needs calibration
Great little module for the price. You definitely need to spend time calibrating the potentiometer to get accurate readings, but once set, it triggers the pump reliably.

Robust and reliable
Used this in an outdoor setup under a shelter. The corrosion resistance on the probes seems decent so far. Digital output makes coding the logic very simple.

Solid component for beginners
Easy to wire up and plenty of tutorials available online. The only downside is the jumper wires included are a bit short, but that's a minor issue.
Q: How long do the probes last before corroding?
A: The nickel-plated probes offer good resistance, but leaving them in constantly moist soil may cause corrosion over several months. For long-term projects, consider coating them or using capacitive sensors.
Q: Can this sensor be used directly with a 12V water pump?
A: No, the sensor operates at 3.3V-5V. You will need a relay module or a transistor circuit to safely control a 12V pump using the sensor's signal.
Q: Can I bury the entire module underground?
A: No, only the metal probe tips should be inserted into the soil. The PCB board and electronic components are not waterproof and must remain dry above ground.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: This specific module provides a digital switch output (HIGH/LOW). If you require analog values for precise moisture percentage, please check our ASR series sensors.
Q: Does this come with code examples for Raspberry Pi?
A: The package includes hardware only. However, our website provides a downloadable PDF with Python and C++ code examples for both Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
