Works as described for alcohol detection
Using the MQ-3 model to monitor fermentation levels in a home brewing setup. It detects ethanol vapor accurately. Just ensure you have a proper 5V power supply to avoid noise in the signal.

Reliable and robust

Decent but needs external circuitry for precision
For basic detection, this is fine. However, if you need precise PPM measurements, you will need to do significant calibration and possibly add external filtering. Good for binary 'safe/unsafe' alerts though.

Perfect for my home safety project

Excellent for student projects
