Sensitive to noise
The module works, but I noticed some false triggers when my motor was running nearby. Adding a decoupling capacitor near the VCC pin solved the issue. Just be aware of EMI.

Easy to wire up
I was worried about the wiring, but the pins are clearly labeled. Connected VCC, GND, and IO to my ESP32, uploaded a sample sketch, and it worked immediately. Great little module.

Great for school projects
Bought five of these for our final year project. All of them worked perfectly. The price point makes it easy to experiment without worrying about burning out expensive components.

Good value, needs calibration for thick surfaces
Works well for standard applications. I had to add a small capacitor to increase sensitivity because I was using it behind a 5mm acrylic panel. Once tuned, it's very reliable.

Stable and low power
Using this in a battery-powered project. The standby current is incredibly low as advertised. The toggle mode option is a nice feature for lamp control applications.

Perfect for DIY projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The sensitivity is great right out of the box, and it detects touch through a thin plastic case easily. Highly recommended for beginners.
Q: What is the maximum voltage this module can handle?
A: The operating voltage range is 2.0V to 5.5V DC. Do not exceed 5.5V as it may damage the IC. It is fully compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic systems.
Q: How do I switch between direct and toggle output modes?
A: There is a solder pad on the back of the module labeled 'A'. Shorting this pad enables Toggle Mode (click on/click off). Leaving it open keeps it in Direct Mode (touch on/release off).
Q: Can this sensor detect touch through glass?
A: Yes, the TTP223 can detect touch through non-metallic materials like glass or plastic, provided the material is not too thick (typically under 5-8mm depending on calibration).
Q: Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?
A: Yes, there is a pad labeled 'C' on the PCB. You can solder a small capacitor (1pF to 50pF) between this pad and ground to adjust sensitivity. Higher capacitance generally increases sensitivity.
