Good value but needs warm-up time

Works well for monitoring my indoor garden. Just remember that it takes about 48 hours of continuous power for the baseline to stabilize completely. Once calibrated, the eCO2 trends are very accurate.

Perfect for Home Automation Projects

Reliable data logging component

Using this in a classroom environment to track air quality throughout the day. The TVOC readings spike appropriately when the room gets stuffy. Only minor issue is the sensitivity to humidity changes, but that is expected for this sensor type.

Q: How long does the initial calibration take?

A: For best accuracy, the sensor should be operated in fresh air (outdoors or well-ventilated area) for at least 48 hours continuously upon first use. This allows the algorithm to establish a reliable baseline.

Q: Is this compatible with 5V Arduino boards?

A: Yes, the module includes a voltage regulator and level shifting, making it safe to connect to both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno or Nano.

Q: Does this module output raw resistance values or processed data?

A: The SGP30 outputs processed digital values for TVOC and eCO2 directly via the I2C interface. It performs internal signal processing and compensation, so you do not need to calculate resistance manually.

Q: What is the expected lifespan of the sensor?

A: Under normal operating conditions within the specified temperature and humidity ranges, the sensor has an expected operational lifetime of more than 10 years.

Q: Can this detect carbon monoxide (CO)?

A: No, the SGP30 is specifically designed to measure Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC) and equivalent Carbon Dioxide (eCO2). It is not calibrated for detecting Carbon Monoxide (CO).
