Good value, clear instructions needed
The hardware quality is solid and the relay clicks loudly which confirms it's working. However, the diagram on the board is a bit small. Once I figured out the VCC and GND pins, it was smooth sailing.

Perfect for my garden lighting project
This module worked exactly as described. I connected it to a 12V LED strip for my porch, and the sensitivity adjustment is very precise. It turns on right at dusk without any flickering.

Easy to integrate
As someone new to electronics, I found this very easy to use. Just power it up and tweak the blue potentiometer until the LED indicator behaves how you want. Works great with my Arduino project too.

Exactly what I needed

Solid component, slight delay
Overall a great sensor module. There is a tiny fraction of a second delay when the light changes, but it's negligible for street light applications. The build quality feels durable.

Reliable light detection
I've installed three of these for my solar setup. They handle the 12V input perfectly and the photoresistor reacts quickly to changes in ambient light. Highly recommended for automation.
Q: Can this module handle 24V input instead of 12V?
A: No, this specific model is designed strictly for 12V DC input. Applying 24V may damage the onboard components and the relay coil.
Q: What is the maximum current the relay can switch?
A: The relay contacts are rated for up to 10 Amps at 250V AC or 30V DC. We recommend staying below 8A for long-term reliability.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a mains powered lamp?
A: You can use the relay to switch a mains-powered lamp, but the control side (sensor) must still be powered by a 12V DC source. Ensure proper insulation and safety measures when dealing with mains voltage.
Q: Does the relay stay on when it gets dark or when it gets light?
A: By default, this is a 'light seeking' module, meaning the relay activates when light is detected. However, many versions have a jumper or can be wired inversely to activate in darkness. Please check the specific silkscreen on your board for NO/NC terminals.
Q: Is the sensitivity adjustable automatically or manually?
A: It is manually adjustable using the blue potentiometer located on the PCB. You can turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the exact lux level at which the switch triggers.
