Good module, needs calibration
Works well once you spend a few minutes calibrating the sensitivity. Out of the box, it was a bit too sensitive for my location, but after tweaking, it performs flawlessly. Fast shipping too.

Sturdy and effective
The PCB looks professional and the components are securely mounted. I tested it under a shower head to simulate rain, and the reaction time was instant. Great addition to my weather station kit.

Perfect for my automated garden system
This module works exactly as described. The large sensing area picks up rain drops quickly, and the sensitivity potentiometer makes it easy to fine-tune for light drizzle versus heavy storms. Integrated it with my Arduino project without any issues.

Great value, simple to use
Very responsive sensor. The digital output is clean and ready for microcontrollers. I deducted one star because the soldering pads are a bit small for thick wires, but for standard jumper wires, it's perfect.

Excellent sensitivity range
The ability to adjust the threshold via the potentiometer is a game changer. You can set it to ignore minor humidity changes and only react to actual water droplets. Highly recommended for students and hobbyists.
Q: Can this module be used directly with a 3.3V microcontroller like the ESP8266?
A: Yes, while the module operates at 5V, the digital output is generally compatible with 3.3V logic levels. However, for maximum safety and stability, we recommend using a voltage divider or a logic level converter if your specific board is sensitive.
Q: Is the sensor board waterproof or just water-resistant?
A: The sensing board itself is designed to get wet as it detects rain, but the comparator module (the blue/black part with the chip) should be kept dry or housed in a waterproof enclosure to prevent damage to the electronics.
Q: What is the maximum current this relay can switch?
A: Please note that this specific model features a digital signal output, not a built-in high-power relay. It outputs a signal to tell your microcontroller to trigger a separate relay module if you need to switch high-voltage devices.
Q: How do I clean the sensor if it gets dirty from dust or mud?
A: You can gently wipe the sensing board with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the conductive traces on the PCB. Ensure it is completely dry before powering it on again.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package typically includes the sensor module and the controller board. Jumper wires are usually not included, so please ensure you have male-to-female or male-to-male Dupont wires available for your project.
