Good accuracy, fast response
Integrated this into a prototype air purifier. The response time is impressively fast. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be slightly more detailed regarding the PWM duty cycle calculation.

Solid performance

Perfect for DIY Air Quality Projects
This sensor module is exactly what I needed for my home automation project. The UART output is clean and easy to parse with an ESP32. Readings seem consistent when compared to my commercial monitor.

Exceeded expectations
I was worried about calibration, but out of the box, the readings aligned well with local air quality index reports. Very happy with this purchase.
Q: Can I use this with a 3.3V microcontroller like the ESP8266?
A: The sensor operates at 5V. However, the UART TX pin outputs 3.3V logic levels, so it can directly connect to 3.3V MCUs. Ensure the power supply to the sensor itself is 5V.
Q: Is the fan replaceable if it stops working?
A: The fan is integrated into the module housing. While technically skilled users can attempt replacement, we recommend replacing the entire module to maintain calibration integrity and warranty coverage.
Q: Does this sensor require a warm-up period before reading accurate data?
A: Yes, we recommend allowing the sensor to warm up for approximately 30 to 60 seconds after power-on to ensure the laser and fan stabilize for accurate readings.
Q: Does this detect gases like CO or VOCs?
A: No, this is a particulate matter (PM) sensor using laser scattering. It detects solid particles like dust, smoke, and pollen, but it does not detect gaseous pollutants.
Q: What is the difference between the ZH06-I and ZH06-VI models?
A: The primary differences lie in the specific calibration curves and minor firmware updates optimized for different regional dust profiles. Please check the specific datasheet addendum for your region.
