Perfect for my Arduino project
This photodiode module worked exactly as expected. The sensitivity adjustment via the potentiometer is very smooth, allowing me to set the exact light threshold needed for my automatic night light project.

Good value, clear instructions

Works well with 3.3V logic
Tested successfully with an ESP32 running at 3.3V. No level shifter needed. The LED indicator is bright enough to see status at a glance but not blinding.
Q: Can I power this directly from a 9V battery?
A: No, the operating voltage is strictly 3.3V to 5V DC. Connecting it directly to a 9V source may damage the component. Please use a voltage regulator if your power source exceeds 5V.
Q: Does this module output analog or digital signals?
A: This specific module outputs a digital signal (HIGH or LOW) based on the threshold you set with the potentiometer. If you need analog values, please check our separate analog photodiode listings.
Q: Is the sensitivity adjustable in real-time?
A: Yes, there is a blue potentiometer on the board. You can turn it with a small screwdriver while the module is powered to adjust the light intensity threshold immediately.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires?
A: The package includes the PCB module only. Jumper wires are not included but are readily available in our accessories section.
Q: What is the maximum current this sensor can switch?
A: The onboard comparator output is designed for logic signals and cannot drive high-current loads directly. You should use the output to trigger a transistor, MOSFET, or relay module for higher current applications.
