Takes a while to warm up
Works as expected, but be aware that it really does need that 24-hour preheat period to give accurate readings. Initially, my readings were all over the place.

Solid performance
Integrated this into my smart home system. It detects cooking smoke quickly. Just make sure your power supply can handle the heater current requirement.

Perfect for Arduino projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. I used it to build a simple gas leak detector for my kitchen. The analog output is stable after the recommended preheat time.

Great for learning
Excellent entry-level sensor for anyone learning about IoT and environmental monitoring. Easy to interface with Raspberry Pi using an ADC converter.

Good sensitivity but needs calibration
The sensor is very sensitive to smoke and LPG. However, you must spend time calibrating the potentiometer on the board to get the digital trigger right. Overall, great value for the price.

Reliable component
I bought five of these for a university project. All of them performed consistently. The documentation provided by the seller was helpful for wiring the circuit correctly.
Q: Can I use this outdoors?
A: This module is designed for indoor use. Exposure to rain, high humidity, or extreme temperatures outdoors may damage the sensor or affect its accuracy significantly.
Q: What is the difference between the DO and AO pins?
A: AO (Analog Output) provides a voltage proportional to the gas concentration, while DO (Digital Output) goes high or low when the concentration exceeds a threshold set by the onboard potentiometer.
Q: How long does the sensor last?
A: Under normal operating conditions, the semiconductor sensing element typically has a lifespan of 1 to 2 years, depending on the environment and exposure levels.
Q: Can this sensor detect natural gas?
A: Yes, the MQ-2 is sensitive to methane, which is the primary component of natural gas, as well as LPG and propane.
Q: Does this module come with a library for Arduino?
A: The hardware itself does not include a library, but there are many open-source libraries available in the Arduino Library Manager that support the MQ-2 sensor.
