Good sensor, instructions could be better
The hardware quality is solid and detection is reliable. However, the pinout diagram on the back is a bit faint. Once I found a wiring guide online, it was easy to set up.

Reliable and compact
I bought five of these for a home automation prototype. All of them performed consistently. The size is perfect for fitting into small enclosures without taking up too much space.

Excellent sensitivity range
Impressed by how well this picks up movement even at the edge of the 7-meter range. The delay timer potentiometer allows for precise customization depending on your specific use case.

Great for beginners
As someone new to electronics, this was easy to interface with my microcontroller. It only took a few lines of code to get it working. Deducting one star because the header pins were not pre-soldered.

Solid component for security alarms
Using this in a custom burglar alarm system. It has been running for two weeks without any false positives. The build quality feels durable enough for long-term indoor use.

Perfect for my Arduino project
This PIR module worked flawlessly right out of the box. The sensitivity adjustment is very responsive, and it detected motion accurately within the stated range. Great value for hobbyists.
Q: Can this module be powered directly by a 9V battery?
A: No, the operating voltage is DC 3.3V to 5V. Connecting it directly to a 9V battery may damage the module. Please use a voltage regulator or a 5V power source.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof for outdoor use?
A: No, this module is designed for indoor use only. The PCB and components are not sealed against moisture. For outdoor applications, you must house it in a waterproof enclosure.
Q: Does this come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the PIR module with the Fresnel lens attached. Connecting wires and header pins are not included but can be easily sourced separately.
Q: What is the difference between H and L trigger modes?
A: In H mode (non-repeatable), the output stays high only while motion is detected. In L mode (repeatable), once triggered, the output stays high for the full delay time regardless of continued motion.
Q: Can I adjust the detection distance?
A: Yes, there is a second potentiometer on the board specifically for adjusting the sensitivity, which effectively controls the maximum detection distance.
