Saved my basement from flooding
I set this up as an early warning system for my sump pump. The non-contact feature means no corrosion issues over time. It alerted me immediately when the water rose too high.

Great value for money
Compared to other liquid level sensors, this capacitive type is much cheaper and easier to install since you don't need to drill holes in your tank. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

Perfect for my aquarium project
This non-contact sensor works flawlessly. I attached it to the outside of my glass tank, and it detects the water level accurately without any wires touching the water. Very safe and reliable.

Good sensitivity, needs calibration
The module is well-made and the green PCB looks professional. It took a little trial and error to find the right spot on the plastic container, but once calibrated, it triggers consistently.

Works well on glass and thin plastic
I tested this on both glass and thick plastic containers. It works perfectly on glass and thin plastic walls. On very thick industrial plastic, the sensitivity dropped slightly, but still usable.

Easy to integrate with Arduino
Plug and play with my Arduino Uno. The digital output makes coding very simple. I used it to trigger a pump when the reservoir gets low, and it has been running for weeks without issues.
Q: What is the maximum thickness of the container wall it can sense through?
A: Generally, it works best with wall thicknesses up to 10mm. Performance may vary depending on the material density of the container.
Q: Can I use this with a 12V system?
A: No, the operating voltage is strictly 3.3V to 5V DC. Connecting it to 12V directly will damage the module. Please use a voltage regulator if your system is 12V.
Q: Is this module waterproof itself?
A: The sensing area is conformal coated for moisture resistance, but the electronic components and pin headers are not fully submersible. Only the sensing side should face the liquid container.
Q: Can this sensor detect oil or only water?
A: This capacitive sensor can detect most non-corrosive liquids, including water, oil, and milk, provided the container wall is not too thick.
Q: Does it come with connecting wires?
A: The package includes the PCB module and a pin header strip. You will need to solder your own wires or use jumper cables to connect it to your microcontroller.
