Bought five, all working perfectly
Purchased a batch for our community workshop. Every single unit worked out of the box. The build quality feels durable, and the lens is well-protected. Will buy again.

Robust and reliable
I've tested several infrared modules, and the JX90614 stands out for its high-temperature resistance. It handles the heat near my motor controller without drifting. Highly recommended for industrial prototypes.

Solid performance for the price
We use these for quick spot checks in our lab. They are not laboratory-grade certified, but for general monitoring and trend analysis, they perform excellently. The response time is very quick.

Great little sensor
Compact size fits perfectly in my enclosure. The non-contact feature is exactly what I needed to measure moving parts safely. Setup took less than 10 minutes.

Good accuracy, fast shipping
Used this to monitor the temperature of a 3D printer hotend from a safe distance. It's accurate within half a degree compared to my thermocouple. Only minor issue is the wiring diagram could be clearer.
Q: Does this module come with a library for Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, we provide a Python library and example code for Raspberry Pi on our GitHub repository, which is linked in the product manual.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate measurement?
A: The accuracy depends on the target size relative to the distance due to the 90-degree field of view. For best results, ensure the target completely fills the sensor's view; typically, this means staying within 10-20cm for small objects.
Q: Is the output analog or digital?
A: The JX90614 outputs digital data via the I2C interface. It also supports a PWM output mode which can be read as an analog-like signal if your processor lacks I2C capabilities.
Q: Does it require external calibration?
A: No, the module comes factory-calibrated. It is ready to use immediately upon connection. However, for extreme precision applications, you may apply a software offset based on your specific environment.
Q: Can this measure the temperature of liquids?
A: Yes, it can measure liquid temperatures provided the surface is not highly reflective. For shiny liquids, we recommend applying a piece of matte tape to the container or stirring the liquid to get an average surface reading.
