Good sensor, clear instructions needed
The module itself is high quality and reacts very quickly. I deducted one star because the wiring diagram on the board was slightly faint, but once connected correctly, it performs flawlessly.

Excellent sensitivity

Solid performance for the cost
Works well for light industrial applications. The response time is fast enough for our counting mechanism. Just ensure your power supply is stable to avoid false triggers.

Reliable non-contact detection
We use these in our student projects for sorting metallic objects. They have held up well under continuous use and the LED indicator is bright enough to see status at a glance.
Q: Can this sensor detect aluminum foil?
A: Yes, the module can detect aluminum, but due to its thinness, you may need to adjust the sensitivity potentiometer to maximum and ensure the foil passes close to the coil.
Q: Does this output a relay signal or a transistor signal?
A: This module outputs a transistor signal (NPN or PNP depending on the specific model version you purchased). It is not a mechanical relay output.
Q: What is the maximum voltage this module can handle?
A: The operating voltage range is DC 5V to 24V. We recommend using 12V for optimal stability, but do not exceed 24V to prevent damage to the circuit.
Q: Is this suitable for outdoor use in the rain?
A: The bare module is not waterproof. For outdoor use, you must install it inside a waterproof enclosure or IP-rated housing to protect the electronics from moisture.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: There is a small blue potentiometer on the PCB. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (distance) and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Use a small screwdriver for adjustment.
