Solid performance, minor heat
Performance is great for attitude estimation. It does get slightly warm during continuous operation at max frequency, but nothing that affects readings. Good product overall.

Excellent update rate stability
I needed a consistent 200Hz stream for my control loop, and this delivers without dropping packets. The USB interface makes debugging much easier compared to pure I2C modules.

Perfect for ROS2 projects
This module plugged right into my Raspberry Pi and was recognized immediately. The ROS driver documentation is clear, and the data fusion accuracy is impressive for the price point. Highly recommended for autonomous navigation stacks.

Reliable for indoor mapping
Using this for SLAM applications indoors. The magnetometer helps correct drift significantly when combined with wheel odometry. Very happy with the purchase.

Great value, needs calibration
The sensor works well once you run the full magnetometer calibration routine. Out of the box, the yaw drifted a bit, but after calibration, it holds steady. The build quality feels solid.

Best beginner IMU
As a university student working on a self-balancing robot, this was easy to set up. The example code provided on the GitHub repo got me running in under an hour.
Q: Does this module support ROS2 Humble?
A: Yes, our latest driver package fully supports ROS2 Humble, Foxy, and Galactic. You can find the installation instructions in the wiki link provided in the manual.
Q: What is the latency of the data output?
A: At 400Hz, the typical end-to-end latency from motion detection to USB packet delivery is approximately 3-5ms, depending on your host system's USB polling rate.
Q: Do you provide a Python library for non-ROS users?
A: Yes, we offer a standalone Python library that allows you to read raw and fused data via a simple pip install command. It works on Linux, Windows, and macOS.
Q: Is the magnetometer affected by nearby motors?
A: Like all MEMS magnetometers, it can be influenced by strong magnetic fields from motors. We recommend mounting the sensor as far away from high-current cables and motors as possible, or implementing software compensation in your filter.
Q: Can I power this with 3.3V instead of 5V?
A: The module includes an onboard regulator, but for optimal noise performance and USB communication stability, we recommend powering it via the 5V pin or USB port. 3.3V input may not be sufficient for the USB bridge chip.
