Essential component for weighing projects
Bought the 20kg version for a garden monitoring system. The build quality of the aluminum load cell feels robust. Integration with ESP32 was seamless using standard libraries.

Good value, minor wiring confusion
The sensors work well once connected correctly. The color coding on the wires wasn't immediately obvious in the manual, but a quick online search cleared it up. Great accuracy after calibration.

Reliable and Accurate
I used the 5kg load cell for a small kitchen scale prototype. The noise filtering on the HX711 module is excellent. It handles minor vibrations well without fluctuating too much.

Excellent precision for the cost
I've tested this against a commercial digital scale, and the variance is negligible. The ability to switch between 10Hz and 80Hz sampling rates is a nice touch for different use cases.

Perfect for DIY Scale Projects
This kit worked flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The HX711 library is easy to find and implement. Calibration was straightforward, and the readings are surprisingly stable for the price point.

Works as advertised
Great starter kit for learning about strain gauges. The module is compact and fits easily on a breadboard. Just ensure you have a stable power supply to avoid reading drift.
Q: Can I use this module with a 3.3V microcontroller like the ESP8266?
A: Yes, the HX711 module operates within a voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, making it fully compatible with 3.3V logic microcontrollers such as the ESP8266 and ESP32.
Q: Does the kit include the necessary libraries for Arduino?
A: The physical kit does not include software, but the HX711 library is open-source and freely available in the Arduino Library Manager. Simply search for 'HX711' to install it.
Q: How do I calibrate the sensor to get accurate weight readings?
A: Calibration involves placing a known weight on the sensor, reading the raw value, and calculating a scale factor (ratio). Most example codes in the HX711 library include a calibration routine to guide you through this process.
Q: Is the 20kg load cell suitable for measuring very small weights like 1 gram?
A: While the HX711 is sensitive, a 20kg load cell is optimized for heavier loads. For measuring very small weights like 1 gram with high precision, we recommend using the 1kg or 5kg load cell option included in our variant selections.
Q: What is the difference between Channel A and Channel B on the module?
A: Channel A has a programmable gain of 32, 64, or 128, suitable for most load cells. Channel B has a fixed gain of 32 and is typically used for secondary sensors or specific differential inputs.
