Perfect for my Arduino security project
This vibration sensor is incredibly sensitive and easy to calibrate using the potentiometer. I used it for a DIY alarm system, and it triggers reliably even with slight taps. Great value for the price.

Good sensitivity, needs careful tuning
Works as described. The sensitivity is high, which is good, but you need to spend some time adjusting the screw to avoid false positives from ambient noise. Once tuned, it works perfectly.

Reliable and compact
I bought five of these for a student workshop. They are robust, small enough to fit in tight enclosures, and the pinout is standard. No issues with any of the units so far.

Best in class for the price point
I have tried several vibration modules, and this SW-420 offers the best balance of sensitivity and stability. The build quality of the PCB is also surprisingly good.

Excellent response time
The digital output switches very quickly upon detecting vibration. I tested it with an oscilloscope, and the signal is clean. Highly recommended for automation projects.

Great module, clear instructions needed
The hardware is solid, but beginners might struggle slightly without a schematic. However, once you understand the NO/NC jumper settings, it's very versatile. Works great with ESP8266.
Q: Can this sensor detect heavy truck vibrations from a distance?
A: This module is designed for direct contact vibration detection on the object it is mounted to. It is not suitable for detecting vibrations through air or from long distances; it works best when screwed directly onto the surface being monitored.
Q: How do I switch between Normally Open and Normally Closed modes?
A: There is a small jumper cap on the PCB. Moving the jumper to the pins labeled 'NO' sets it to Normally Open, while moving it to 'NC' sets it to Normally Closed. Please refer to the silkscreen on the board.
Q: Does this come with mounting screws?
A: The package typically includes the sensor module only. Mounting screws are not included, but the holes are standard 3mm size, so any M3 screws will fit perfectly.
Q: Is the output voltage compatible with 3.3V logic boards like ESP32?
A: Yes, the module operates on a 3.3V to 5V supply, and the digital output swings between GND and VCC. Therefore, if you power it with 3.3V, the output is fully compatible with ESP32 and other 3.3V microcontrollers.
Q: What is the maximum current this module can handle?
A: This is a signal sensor module, not a power relay. The output pin is intended to send a logic signal to a microcontroller. Do not connect high-current loads directly to the output pin; use a transistor or relay if you need to switch higher loads.
