No more lights turning off while working
Finally, a sensor that understands 'presence' vs 'motion'. My office lights stay on while I type, which was impossible with my old motion detectors. Highly recommended.

Best presence sensor in this price range
I've tested several radar modules, and the LD2410B offers the best balance of performance and ease of use. The integrated light sensor is a nice bonus for automatic day/night switching.

Great hardware, learning curve on settings
The millimeter wave technology works as advertised. It took some time to tune the sensitivity ranges to avoid false positives from my ceiling fan, but once configured, it's rock solid.

Perfect for Smart Home Automation
This sensor is incredibly sensitive. Unlike traditional PIR sensors, it detects me even when I'm sitting still reading a book. The Bluetooth configuration was straightforward using the app.

Energy saver with high precision
Installed this in the bathroom and hallway. The ability to detect breathing means the lights only go off when the room is truly empty. Great for saving energy without inconvenience.

Solid module for ESP32 projects
Integrates well with ESPHome and Home Assistant. The UART communication is stable. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be slightly more detailed for advanced filtering.
Q: Is the Bluetooth connection secure for home use?
A: Yes, the module uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 with standard encryption protocols. Configuration requires physical proximity, ensuring that unauthorized users cannot easily tamper with your settings.
Q: Can I disable the light sensor feature if I don't need it?
A: Yes, the photoresistor function can be disabled or ignored via the configuration software. You can set the output logic to rely solely on human presence detection regardless of ambient light levels.
Q: What is the maximum detection distance?
A: The maximum detection range is up to 6 meters. However, this is adjustable via the configuration app. Reducing the range can help improve accuracy in smaller rooms or prevent detecting movement through thin walls.
Q: Does this work with Home Assistant without extra bridges?
A: The module outputs data via UART/TTL. To connect to Home Assistant, you typically need a microcontroller like an ESP32 or ESP8266 to read the UART data and send it to your server via Wi-Fi. There is no direct Wi-Fi on this specific module.
Q: Can this sensor detect a person sleeping in a bed?
A: Yes, the LD2410B uses millimeter wave radar capable of detecting micro-movements such as chest expansion from breathing, so it can identify presence even when the subject is stationary or sleeping.
