Perfect for camera gimbals
Used this for a 3-axis camera gimbal. The low latency and high update rate make the footage incredibly smooth. The magnetometer calibration routine included in the firmware works well after the initial setup.

Excellent stability for custom UAVs
I integrated the 10-axis version into my custom racing drone frame. The yaw hold is significantly better than my previous MPU6050 setup. The UART output is clean and easy to parse with my flight controller code.

Professional grade performance
Impressed by the static accuracy specs. Compared it against a much more expensive tactical grade IMU, and for general navigation purposes, the Hi-Link AS201 holds up remarkably well.

Good value for money
For the price, you get a lot of functionality. The 9-axis mode is sufficient for most hobby projects. Just ensure your logic level converter is set correctly if running at 3.3V.

Great precision, documentation could be better
The sensor data is very stable even with motor vibration. However, the protocol manual was a bit sparse on error codes. Once I figured out the checksum calculation, it worked flawlessly for our balancing robot project.

Robust and reliable
We deployed ten of these modules in an industrial monitoring system. They have been running 24/7 for three months without drift issues or crashes. The temperature compensation seems very effective.
Q: Does this module support I2C communication?
A: No, the AS201 series primarily supports UART/TTL serial communication for data output. Please check the pinout diagram in the datasheet for TX/RX connections.
Q: How do I perform magnetometer calibration?
A: Calibration is done by sending specific command strings via UART while rotating the device in all directions. Detailed step-by-step instructions are available in the 'Calibration Guide' section of the user manual.
Q: Can this be used directly with Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, but since the module operates at 3.3V logic levels, you should use a logic level converter when connecting to the 5V Arduino Uno TX/RX pins to prevent damage.
