Perfect for my smart home project

This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The detection range is impressive, and the sensitivity adjustments are very easy to make using the onboard potentiometers. Great value for money.

Good for learning electronics

Bought this for a school project involving the micro:bit. It was straightforward to wire up. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the documentation could be slightly clearer for absolute beginners, but plenty of tutorials exist online.

Reliable motion detection

Essential component for automation

Solid sensor with minor quirks

Works great overall. Note that it needs a minute or two to initialize after power-up before it starts detecting accurately. Once warmed up, it's very consistent. Good build quality.

Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic boards like the ESP32?

A: Yes, the module operates on DC 4.5V-20V, but the output signal is compatible with 3.3V microcontrollers. Just ensure you power the VCC pin appropriately, usually 5V is recommended for stable operation.

Q: Can this sensor detect movement through glass?

A: No, PIR sensors generally cannot detect infrared radiation through glass as glass blocks IR waves. It needs a direct line of sight or an open window.

Q: Does this come with connecting wires?

A: The package typically includes the sensor module only. You will need to purchase male-to-female jumper wires separately to connect it to your microcontroller.

Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity?

A: There is a potentiometer labeled 'Sensitivity' on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase the detection distance and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Test adjustments in small increments.

Q: What is the difference between L and H trigger modes?

A: In 'H' (High) mode, the sensor keeps the output high as long as motion is detected continuously. In 'L' (Low) mode, once triggered, it outputs a high signal for the set delay time regardless of subsequent motion during that period.
