Perfect for robotics projects
This sensor is incredibly accurate for its size. I used it on my line-following robot for obstacle avoidance, and the response time is excellent. The I2C library for Arduino worked straight out of the box.

Great value, minor setup needed
Works well once you get the voltage regulator sorted. Make sure your microcontroller supports 3.3V logic or use a level shifter. Distance readings are consistent up to about 1.8 meters in my tests.

Good sensor, tricky documentation
The hardware itself seems solid, but finding clear examples for Python on Raspberry Pi took some digging. Once configured, it measures distance quickly and accurately.

Best ToF sensor in this price range
I have tested several VL53L0X modules from different sellers, and this one has the cleanest soldering and most stable output. No noise in the data stream even at maximum range.

Solid performance for automation
Using this for a conveyor belt counting system. It detects objects reliably as long as they aren't completely black or transparent. Fast shipping and good packaging.

A: Generally, no. Laser ToF sensors like the VL53L0X often struggle with transparent materials like glass because the laser passes through or reflects unpredictably. Opaque targets work best.
Q: Is a logic level converter required for Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, the Arduino Uno operates at 5V logic, while this sensor requires 3.3V. You should use a logic level converter for the SDA and SCL lines to prevent damage to the module.
