Compact and efficient
Small form factor makes it easy to integrate into tight spaces. The only downside is that ambient light can interfere if not shielded properly.

Perfect for Arduino projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The color recognition is surprisingly accurate for the price point. Setup was easy using existing libraries.

Good value but needs calibration
The module is solid and well-soldered. You do need to spend some time calibrating it for your specific lighting conditions, but once done, it performs well.

Great for university projects
Used this for a final year sorting robot project. It reliably distinguishes between red, blue, green, and white objects. Highly recommend for students.

Excellent I2C implementation
The TCS34725 version with I2C is much easier to wire than the pulse output versions. Library support is abundant, making coding a breeze.
Q: What is the maximum distance for accurate color detection?
A: For the most accurate readings, the object should be within 3mm to 10mm of the sensor. Beyond 10mm, accuracy may decrease depending on ambient lighting.
Q: Does it distinguish between black and dark blue?
A: While it can detect low light values for black, distinguishing very dark colors depends heavily on calibration and lighting. We recommend testing with your specific materials.
Q: Is the onboard LED brightness adjustable?
A: Yes, the brightness of the integrated white LED can be adjusted via software commands to prevent washing out colors on reflective surfaces.
Q: Does this module come with a library for Arduino?
A: Yes, this sensor is compatible with popular open-source Arduino libraries such as Adafruit_TCS34725. You can install them directly via the Library Manager.
Q: Can this work with 3.3V logic levels?
A: Absolutely. The module operates on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers like ESP32 and Arduino.
